My Yoga Teacher Training journey
I woke up on a beautiful morning this May 2020, checking
on my mailbox.I received the greatest news from the
Yoga School- HOUSE OF OMWithout any hesitations,
I quickly secured my Yoga Teacher Training
spot at HOUSE OF OM.

I was brought to countless yoga classes when I was young.
My mom had a traumatised experience of her knee-cap
injuries when she was in her early 30.
She was recommended by different orthopaedic consultants
to go through some knee surgery so that she will be able
to bend on her knees again without excruciating
pain sensations.

Then, she discovered Yoga as her life saviour.
As months go by, she slowly recovers and regains her
strength and she has become more enthusiastic about
yoga as a therapeutic intervention.

My mamma dearest & I- 2014 in Angkor Wat
It is not as popular as european countries to find an hourly sitter to babysit me, so my mom actually brought me to her yoga class.
*PS: I WAS ONLY 5, I SLEPT THROUGH THE WHOLE LESSON*.
The most mesmerizing moment to me is, I was surprised that my mom learn how to
monkey walk in her yoga class, it is almost like a *walking* padangusthasana.

She is the reason I learned about Yoga.

I never knew I would enjoy yoga to this extent, even developing a small dream of becoming
a yoga teacher. I used to think Adho Mukha Svanasana is killing me at the beginning of my yoga practice. All I can say is practice makes perfect. Learning is a lifelong process, I am trying to be like a sponge absorbing what House of Om offers to me.

2015

-2020
In 2013, I always imitated how the yoga pose looks and forgot how important squaring your hips, opening your heart space and when to breathe in and out to hold on that pose and enjoy the benefits of it. After learning from House of Om, the asana cues really helps me improve my practice a lot. I feel excited to jump on my yoga mat to practice Surya Namaskar A and B each morning. Asana practice in the morning refreshed my body and mind before I head out to work.

-2016, life in Saudi Arabia. Regardless of the size of our bodies, age or gender, anyone can do YOGA. Yoga journeys definitely shape my perspective of life and improve my lifestyle.

I just wanna *shoutout* to tell everyone who wanna give Yoga a try, don’t be afraid or intimidated by social media posts. We never know how many times this person falls on the ground out of that 1 beautiful HANDSTAND photo posted on Instagram.
*I picked up myself and continue practice this asana, stood up 1 time after numerous failing*. -2019

Still practicing to improve my SIRSASANA. -June 2020
Pranayama is important. The first lesson I learnt from House of Om is Pranayama.
It helps me a lot in holding an asana and deepen each of my practice.
Still learning how to hold onto a yoga pose.
One of my favourites inversion pose I learnt from House of Om
Pindasana-The Embryo Pose.

I think  it’s really important to know which yoga school you choose to embark on your YTT journey. It’s great to know what your yoga school has to offer to you to start your yoga goal slowly. It’s a baby step to me. I am a full time cardiac nurse but I truly appreciate the effort of House of Om. Try to plan ahead the study materials and keep pace with homework submissions. Online learning certainly requires some determination and definite commitment.
Find joys in learning. Keep calm and have a fun Yoga Journey together!
